A panel featuring some of the vending, coffee and foodservice industry's best known and most successful leaders will address the National Automatic Merchandising Association's Supervisor Development Program in April, NAMA Senior Director OneShowSM and Education LyNae Schleyer, NCE, CMP, announced. The program is designed to equip recently appointed supervisors and managers with all of the tools, goals and training they need to become effective team leaders who can use their new knowledge and skills to help push their companies into new levels of growth and prosperity.
The program will be led by Ronald Cichy, Ph.D, NCE5, MSU The School of Hospitality Business Director; Rick Leffke, president of Leffke & Associates; and Jim Proebstle, president and founder of Prodyne Inc., NAMA Executive Vice President and COO Dan Mathews, NCE5, and also includes NAMA Associate Director of OneShow and Member Services Joann DeNardis.
The program includes NAMA's signature workshop tool, the Personal Action Plan to help attendees implement what they've learned when they return back home. "We understand how hard it can be to implement everything you've learned after you've returned to the office, which is why we work with each attendee to help them create a Personal Action Plan delineating all the important concepts that were covered and explaining exactly how each will be used. It really helps participants document new ideas and strategies after each session to make it simple for them to implement the ideas and enjoy the results after they return home," said Schleyer in a prepared statement.
The program features a new format, and will be held Monday through Wednesday April 26-28, prior to the NAMA OneShow at McCormick Place West in Chicago. The program explores real-world problems and mini-case studies with lively discussions led by industry experts. It is similar to the highly successful Executive Development Program currently offered at Michigan State University (MSU), and is taught by outside professors and internal industry experts.
The session offers an array of topics that include decision-making, time management, communications, problem solving, leadership, personal selling skills, customer relations and effective employee management.
In discussing the lineup of speakers Schleyer said, "We've arranged for some of our industry's best known and most successful professionals to lead this program which translates into a priceless opportunity for attendees to hear first-hand from the experts about everything from corporate culture to problem solving and customer service. These professionals will share ideas and techniques that attendees can take back to the office to create an effective and productive workforce. This program was developed exclusively for our industry, and delivers powerful results that can help companies learn how to operate more successfully and profitably."
