Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. To Use Fuel Cell Technology At Production Facility

Provider of energy-efficient products and services UTC Power will supply two of its new PureCell Model 400 fuel cell systems to Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. under a 10-year energy services agreement for an undisclosed sum, the company announced.

The fuel cells will provide on-site electricity and heat for Coca-Cola's production facility in Elmsford, N.Y.

UTC Power will install two fuel cell systems on-site at the CCE facility, which together are expected to generate enough energy and heat for 30 percent of the facility's overall operational needs.

The fuel cells will serve as a backup source of power in the case of a utility power outage. UTC Power will own, operate and maintain the fuel cells as part of a 10-year energy services agreement.

UTC Power is a division of United Technologies Corp.
