Editor's Insight: This rule is consistent with a state law banning trans fats in restaurants, which was announced about one year ago. Unfortunately, the foodservice industry has been slow to address trans fat rules at the national level. As a result, health advocates and politicians are making the rules on their behalf at the state and local levels.
VendingMarketWatch noted the foodservice industry needed to be proactive at the national level to prevent a patchwork of state and local requirements which will be unfeasible for manufacturers to abide on a national level.
These measures will further drive up the cost of food for everyone. 07-02-09 by Elliot Maras
